service offering free training and NVQ
qualifications designed to help your
business stay competitive and to succeed.
It aims to do this through the training and
development of your workforce, helping
to ensure that your employees have the
right skills and knowledge to do the best
job. Second Level 2 and 3 qualifications may also be
available*.
*Subject to eligibility
The employee:
- Must be aged 19 years or over
- Must not already hold any sort of level 2 qualification in any subject
- Must not hold 5 GCSEs Grade A – C or equivalent

Under the Train to Gain service, Employers with fewer than 50 full time or equivalent employees may be eligible for a contribution towards the wage costs of employees taking part in training. Please ask for further details.

If you have no previous Level 2 qualification and yet are working at a level 3 standard in your job, you may be able to achieve a Level 3 qualification though Train to Gain.
- Three-quarters of employers taking up training under Train to Gain (74 per cent) report that they have noticed an improvement in the skills of employees in relation to their specific job role.
- Two-fifths of employers (42 per cent) said that the training they have engaged with through Train to Gain has had a beneficial impact on the bottom-line or profitability of their business.
- Eight employers in ten (80 per cent) would recommend the Train to Gain service to a business colleague outside their organisation.
