C&G Level 2 Certificate in Travel Agency (ABTAC)

This qualification "The Association of British Travel Agents Certificate" is designed and endorsed by ABTA and is recognised within the Travel Industry. It aims to test the knowledge and skills required by Travel Agency consultants. Level 2 tests the knowledge and skills required by a sales consultant. This qualification is also linked to the relevant National Occupational Standards for Travel Services.

The overall aims of the qualification are:

  • To improve the skills of individuals and increase their chances of gaining employment within travel and tourism
  • To support the skills needs within the travel and tourism industry
  • To meet the needs and objectives of candidates and to increase the level of achievement of individuals
  • To increase participation and retention in education and training, and to help overcome social exclusion
  • To widen and increase participation in lifelong learning.

The qualification aims:

  • To provide a broad background of understanding of the travel and tourism sector and the vocational skills required
  • To provide, bite size chunks of learning
  • To combat fears of failure by ensuring that all achievement is recognised
  • Encourages retention and progression by providing a framework for candidates who can build up a around their own needs providing a quality that is highly valued both by candidates and employers.

Internally assessed and externally moderated portfolio

  • Worldwide travel and tourism destinations
  • Responsible tourism
  • Resort representatives
  • Tourist information services
  • Air fares and ticketing
  • Visitor attractions
Entry Requirements:
Although there are no specific recommended prior learning requirements, learners wishing to undertake this qualification should hold an appropriate Level 1 qualification in English. The minimum age of entry for this qualification is 16.

24 weeks

Wednesday 6.00pm – 8.30pm

Inclusive fee:
£130.00

If a learner is over 19, and not in receipt of certain benefits (see Fees and Funding) then a fee may be payable. If a learner has not been resident in the EU for the 3 years prior to the commencement of their course, then a fee may be payable.
