This is one of three vocationally related distance learning courses that can be delivered in the workplace on an individual or group basis. The course can be started at any time in the year and lasts approximately 16 weeks.
The course is designed to meet the demand for trained and qualified health and social care staff in relation to the handling and administration of medicines. It also meets the requirements that the training must be accredited according to the guidelines from the Commission for Social Care Inspection and National Minimum Standards for care homes and domiciliary care in England.
The programme consists of 3 mandatory units:
All three units are assessed via assignments that are set by the awarding body (ASET) and marked by the tutor.
To be accepted onto the course potential learners must work in a health and/or social care or childcare service that involves the administration of medication.
