This is one of three vocationally related distance learning courses that can be delivered in the workplace on an individual or group basis. The course can be started at any time in the year and lasts approximately 16 weeks.
The course is designed to provide the knowledge and understanding required to offer the best professional approach to caring for people who have dementia.
The programme consists of 3 mandatory units:
All three units are assessed via assignments that are set by awarding body (ASET) and marked by the tutor.
To be accepted onto the course potential learners must work in a health and/or social care service that involves caring for people with dementia.

If a learner is over 19, and not in receipt of certain benefits (see Fees and Funding) then a fee may be payable. If a learner has not been resident in the EU for the 3 years prior to the commencement of their course, then a fee may be payable.
