City & Guilds Electrical/Electronics Servicing-Signal Reception

NVQs are work based qualifications to reflect the roles and responsiblities of personnel within a sector of employment. This NVQ is for aerial installers and is recognised by the RDI as the only route to registration.

This award is based on mandatory and optional unit structure & has three different pathways, your pathway is called Signals reception.

The mandatory units that all candidates take are:

  • 201 Complying with Statutory Regulations & Organisational Safety Requirements
  • 202 Contributing to Positive Working Relationships

And the following units related to signals reception:

  • 204 Installing Signals Reception Equipment in Customers Premises
  • 205 Familiarising Customers with the use of Products
  • 206 Working Safely at Heights with Antennas
  • 207 Diagnosing Faults in Signals Reception Systems
  • 208 Replacing Modules in Signals Reception Systems

Most evidence for this award will be obtained from the workplace together with evidence of understanding underlying principles. You will not attend college each week and will be assessed in the workplace, however you will be expected to come into college from time to time for tutorials and portfolio building.

If a learner is over 19, and not in receipt of certain benefits (see Fees and Funding) then a fee may be payable. If a learner has not been resident in the EU for the 3 years prior to the commencement of their course, then a fee may be payable.
