Apprenticeship in Children's Care Learning & Development - Levels 2 & 3

This programme is for people aged 16 to 22.5 years old who are employed within the Early Years sector.

You will study:

  • Children’s Care Learning & Development Technical Cert.
  • NVQ in Children’s Care Learning & Development
  • Key Skills: Communication, Application of Number & ICT
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Employment Rights & Responsibilities (ERR)
  • Food Hygiene (optional)

Completion of all the above units will result in the achievement of a full Apprenticeship.

The learning you undertake in college supports the job you do within your work environment and vice versa.

Level 2 students will need to attend 1.5 days in college per week. Completion is required within 15 months.

Level 3 students will need to attend 1 full day (extended) in college per week unless key skills are required where students would need to attend 1.5 days. Completion is required within 26 months.

Entry:

Level 2 - 2 GCSEs or equivalent at grade D or above (in continuous writing subjects).Level 3 - Level 2 Early Years qualification or must be employed in
early years with 3 GCSEs A* - C grades. You will also be required to come into college and have an informal discussion with college staff (for both levels).
